Grande Lumiere

I used to use my Ben Nye Grande Lumiere palette all the time. Probably because I got it when I was first getting into makeup and wanted everything BRIGHT and SHINY.
Looking at that palette really makes me think about how much my makeup style has changed. I'm still head over heels in love with bright colors and glitter but it seems to be in a very different way.
At least I like to think that there's more attention to the details in the looks that I do now compared to the "one bright color on the lid and another bright color in the crease and I'm done"-type of looks that I used to do.

And so I give you a quick look inspired by the 17-year-old me* with the help of my beloved Ben Nye palette!

I used:

Eyes:
MAC Untitled paint
Ben Nye Sun Yellow eyeshadow
Ben Nye Tangerine eyeshadow
Sugarpill Dollipop eyeshadow
MAC Maria's Magic eyeshadow (Limited edition. Used a tiiiiny bit to blend out Dollipop)
Sugarpill Love+ eyeshadow
MAC Dipdown fluidline
MAC #3 lashes
MAC Army of Amazons mascara (Limited edition)

Face:
MAC Strobe liquid
MAC Matchmaster foundation 1.0

Brows:
MAC Dirty Blonde fluidline brow gelcreme (Limited edition)
MAC Omega eyeshadow

Cheeks:
MAC : Lush-Light Bronze (Limited edition)
Benefit Moon Beam

Lips:
MAC Blankety. Aka. my new found love!

*17-year-old me would never ever have worn bronzer. That was probably for the best though. I'm not sure I would have blended it enough...

What was your makeup style as a teenager?

Thank you!! :)
Hadn't come here in a long time (why? I don't know) and WOW your hair has grown out so much :))
Very nice makeup, as always!

I haven't really been active on here in a long time, so I completely understand why, haha :P
Yeah, I really need to get those split ends trimmed! :P
Thank you <3
My makeup style as a teenager was black liner on the lower lashline and that's pretty much it. Sometimes - SOMETIMES - if it was a special occasion I would wear grey all the way up to my brow and a purple or black lipstick. Ugh. *shudders* Gorgeous look!

Oh wow, I would have loved to see a picture of that special occasion makeup :D

Thanks! :D
Absolutely gorgeous! And even though it is very bright, it still isn't over loud. :)

I hardly wore any makeup as a teenager. If my teenage self saw the stuff I was doing to my face these days, she'd have been very surprised. Ha ha.

Thank you so much! :)

Haha, I went from wearing nothing at all to going all out with bright colors and glitter when I was about 17. Funny how things changes ;)
You sure know how to wear this kind of look, I'm envious ^^ I love this one. The colors go great together.
As a teenager, I wasn't really into makeup, and my parents wouldn't have allowed it anyway (even blue nail polish was forbidden because it made me look like "a clown", according to my father) so it was only black pencil into the waterline. And sometimes, rose-wood lipstick, because on me it looks quite natural =)

Aww, thank you!! :)

My parents were the same - at least up to a certain point. I guess they just got used to the crazy makeup over time :)

Natural lipstick is such a great thing to have, isn't it? I love when teenage girls wear a natural lipstick instead of the classic pale gloss! :)
WOW! I'm envious too, I can't pull off super brights like this but gosh I love these kind of looks. My parents wouldn't allow makeup either but I always used to sneak into my mom's stash when she was out - heh heh. Can't wait for your next look!

That's so sweet of you!! :)

Haha, I'm sure I would have snuck into my mom's stash too if she had had more makeup! :D
