Lemming: OCC lip tars!

I believe QueenOfBlending was the first person I ever saw using the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tars, and I've been wanting them ever since!

(Image from OCC's website)

These little tubes have been raved about all over youtube, and for some reason I still haven't gotten my hands on them even though all the fun colors would be amazing to have!

The lip tars come in a wide variety of colors, including both fun primary colors as well as wearable every day shades.

Why haven't I gotten them yet?
Simple! I can't decide which ones to get.
Whenever I think about ordering them, I end up putting them all in the shopping cart on whatever website I'm looking at, and even though they're pretty reasonably priced (at $12.50 for 8 mL) I can't bring myself to spend as much money as it would cost to buy them all!

OCC lip tars can be found at
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetic's website (I've never ordered from OCC's site)
Camera Ready Cosmetics (I've ordered from that site before and everything was perfect)

Let me know in the commets:
  • Have you tried the lip tars?
  • What are your thoughts on them?
  • Do you use each color alone or do you mix them?

I've never tried the OCC liptars, though I've been wanting to for aaaaaaages. I really want to try NSFW, it looks like the perfect red!

I'd also like to try Feathered and Tarred for mixing purposes, though I probably wouldnt bother with Botanical or RX, even for mixing.

    NSFW does look really nice!
Feathered and Tarred are definitely ones that I want because of mixing purposes! (once I buy some, lol!)

Call me crazy, but I would love the bright blue as well :P
I'm in the same situation. I've seen so many people raving about them I even saw queenblending a while ago in a video showing swatches of lots of them on her lips. I think they are amazing but I don't know, I just forget about them I guess.. At some point I would love to buy some :-)

Which ones are you thinking about getting?
    I want soooo many :(
Pageant, Anime, Rx, & Safety Orange are the colors I like, but I'm not sure I'd be able to mix them properly, and I'd probably be frustrated with them, which is why I've not purchased any yet.

    I see your point!
It's easier to use products that are already the right color and don't need to be mixed to get the color you want. But at the same time it's just great to be able to mix, isn't it? :)
I looooove the look of Anime!
These are great! Just a teeny bit and it covers everything. Sadly, they stain so if you get them, be careful!

Unfortunately, I find a lot of highly pigmented products stain :( The bright MUFE shadows stain my lid soooo badly!

Which Lip Tar colors have you tried? :)
Which is why I kind of stay away from MUFE, haha.

I've tried Hush, and its a beautiful nude pink color. I've ordered it from the OCC website and everything came within a week 1/2 or so. Do try wearing it over something like a primer or mixing it with a lipstick or another gloss. I find sometimes it can feather - on me anyway. HTH (:

You should try their pigments too if you haven't yet. Very nice!
hey zoffe. i like that they are natural and super pigmented, but you have to be super careful with them. they do stain and bleed like mad. i tried it on a model... bleed away city. we had to remove and use a liner... pretty, but longevity was an issue. it just didn't look polished to me after long wear. :T mixing them with lipstick or another 'made for your lips' medium would prob suffice. just my opinion.

Oh, that sucks! I've heard a lot of people say that the staying power was quite good :/
Did they last OK when worn with a liner?
I'm just so tempted by all the fun colors!
OCC has quite a good service for international orders. I've dealt with them before personally. I only wanted a few colors so what I did was get a few of my readers (from the same country) to join in the order so that we can split the shipping costs

The only kinda lip colors that I go for are nude and naturals and the ones I got (Uber, Hush, Melange and Clear) were still pretty extreme in my books. I find myself keep having to mix them with pigments, other lippies or even buy other liptars to get the color that I want. I can see how they're great for makeup artists but for personal use, one tube can be way too much product especially when you literally only need a drop for the whole lip or two. safe to say that I don't use my Lip Tars very often. I have severely chapped lips too and it doesn't help that they're somewhat drying compared to regular lipsticks

BUT if you're really into bold colors straight off the tube, I'd say go for it.

I'm totally into bold colors straight off the tube, haha! :)

But I see your point about it being more of a Makeup Artist product than a regular consumer product.
Have you tried using a good lip balm underneath the lip tar to take care of the dry lips? Or would that make the lip tar slide right off?
I tried applying it over lip balm and while the lip tar doesn't slide off, it applies a tad streaky and I'd need to use more product than when I apply it over dry lips
haha same here!!! I don't know what to pick!!

    There are tooooo manyyyyyy! ;)
I haven't even tried ONE yet and I already want them all, haha!
Even with someone telling me they don't last and others saying they're drying and stain their lips :/
    Hmmmmmm...
I have a few of them. I love them. Similar to MAC Lipmix. Great product to custom blend your own lip colour and you don't need a lot. A little goes a long way.

I have: Clear (to mix with pigments), Tarred (black), Pageat (hot pink/fuschia) and Safety Orange (bright orange)
