Favorites of the month: April '11 + Giveaway

This post is definitely a bit overdue, but better late than never, right? :)
I always love watching "favorites videos" and reading "favorites posts" when other people do them, so I want to make sure that I do them when I have time as well! :)

New crackle polishes from Depend: Cracked Effect!

I'll admit that I have absolutely no idea when these crackle polishes from Depend came out, but I just found them at a shop today and acted all too crazy and excited ;)

I got a blue(5002), a red(5004), a pink(5003) and a white(5000).
I saw a purple one at the shop as well, but I didn't get it - mostly because it looked more like a dark purple than a super bright one, which is what I would have preferred :P

More polish!

I know, I know! More nail polish ;)
But since I keep buying them, I might as well share them with you, right? :)
(also because I suck and haven't had time to do any "real" posts, haha!)

I bought all of these before going to London, but haven't had the time to post about them yet. I hope to post haul pictures from London really soon! I got some great things :)
I also really hope to have time for some FOTDs and tutorials soon, but we'll see :)

I might have to rename these posts... They haven't really been weekly ;)
But I do have a few NOTDs to show you! :)

ORLY Mint Mojito and China Glaze Four Leaf Clover on the ring finger

Polish!

I'm a little sad, that I couldn't get any OPI polishes with my order.
Why? Because the online retailers can't sell OPI anymore!
Guess I won't be getting more OPI polishes ;)

I ordered all of these from 8ty8 on May 27th and they arrived today! May 31st :)

Weekly Polish Post vol. 2

I really haven't had time to take pictures of my nails this week, so to make up for that, I painted all my nails different colors today, haha! :)

Weekly Polish post vol. 1

I'm trying out this new way of posting my NOTDs - in a collective post once a week :)
I'd love to know what you think about doing it this way rather than posting all the NOTDs in seperate posts :)

NOTD: China Glaze Ruby Pumps

Another polish filled with sparkly amazingness!

I felt all nostalgic when I applied Ruby Pumps to discover that it looks very much like a better version of a crappy, but amazingly sparkly, red polish I had when I was little.

I remember being the happiest girl alive the day I got that bottle of sparkly red polish. Until I applied the color and it didn't show up on my nails that great.

But yayyy, Ruby Pumps look amazing - even on the nails! ;)

 China Glaze Ruby Pumps

I've been wondering about something concerning my NOTD posts...
I'm assuming that most of you aren't following my blog just because of the nail posts, since I'm not really that great with polish. However, I do enjoy painting my nails and lately I've taken quite a few polish pictures.
So....
Do you care to see these nail polish posts?
Would you like me to keep doing every NOTD in a separate post like I've been doing or should I keep the nail posts to once a week/every two weeks and include all the different polishes I've worn that/those week(s)?

NOTD: Have you heard about water marbling?

I don't know if I'm the only one who hadn't heard of "water marbling" before, but if I'm not, I'd like so share something pretty cool with you!!

NOTD: China Glaze Emerald Sparkle

I'd been wanting to get China Glaze Emerald Sparkle for the longest time and I'm super happy that I finally got it!
I'll completely agree with everyone who said it was amazing! :)

If you haven't seen it, I posted pictures of my entire (small) polish haul here :)

NOTD: China Glaze Flying Dragon

I just posted a haul here, and China Glaze Flying Dragon was the first one I wore!

Excuse the not so perfect polish job :)

This color is pretty unique. It didn't work for me at all without a top coat, since it dries to a very weird matte finish. Don't get me wrong, I usually really like matte nails, but I don't think the matte finish works with this color at all.
Nothing a top coat can't fix though! :)

I absolutely love how the glitters in this look when you apply a top coat! <3

Flying Dragon is from the 2008 INK collection.

HAUL: China Glaze and OPI

As some of you may be aware, China Glaze and OPI isn't available where I live. It might be possible to buy OPI at some salons, but they're crazy expensive. I'm pretty sure I saw them for around $30 once!

Ohh, the joys of online shopping! ;)

POTD: GOSH Rainbow nailpolish

I've mentioned this polish before, but it's been a while so I think I can do it again now :D

Confused about POTD? Read this post :)

It's such a gorgeous polish! It has a clear base with multi-colored flakes.
The magic doesn't happen when you apply this polish by itself though - it needs to be layered on top of something else to really make it work :)

It works with pretty much any color!

My favorites are on top of a black like China Glace Liquid Leather

or on top of a dark purple like China Glaze Let's Groove

I took pictures on top of a lot more colors, so keep reading if you want to see! ;)

Nail polish haul!

I did a haul video about the nail polishes I got in Canada :)
Once again, I really don't want to seem like I'm bragging when doing haul videos or blog entries but I love seeing other peoples' hauls and therefore want to post my own :)
I'll try to get pictures of the polishes up on my blog as soon as possible!

What can I say? I just love bright colors on my nails! ;)

Quick Tip: Removing nail polish

When removing your nailpolish, place a cotton pad with nail polish remover on your nail and let it sit for a couple of seconds(or more, depending on the nailpolish remover and the nailpolish you're wearing) to dissolve the nailpolish before you try to remove it. That'll make it easier to get all the polish off without rubbing your nails and getting the polish on your fingers! :)

NOTD: Peachy & Rainbow

NOTD - or nails of the day ;)

If you saw my "Recent makeup buys"-post you most likely saw the pretty nail polishes that I got :)

Here's a picture of my nails "wearing" GOSH's Peachy nail polish w/ GOSH Rainbow nail polish on top:

And a close-up

Please excuse my not so gorgeous nails and the semi-crappy application. I just wanted to see how the two polishes would look layered :)

I really love those "flakie" nail polishes! They add a bit of fun to any boring polish I have sitting unloved on the shelve ;)
Now I just need to find out where to get more! ;)

I haven't done any NOTD posts before and there's a reason for that...
My nails don't look great and I've been too impatient to do anything about it. Before my polish dries I've usually screwed it up. But that was before I found out about quick drying sprays and top coats! ;) Since discovering those I've been much happier to experiment.
That being said, I'm in no way a nail expert! And I haven't tried many of the popular brands like China Glaze and O.P.I - only because I don't have access to them where I live.
I do plan on making an online order though! ;)

Please let me know what you think about these types of posts :)
